MEV-4 Isolation level monitoring unit

The Problem:
You are in charge of the safety of operation and maintenance of the electric installations in for example a hospital. There is a lot of electric equipment that under no circumstances must fail and break down during an operation or elsewhere during the care of the patients.

The Solution:
Our new device, MEV-4 is an electronic isolation level monitoring unit, which is used mainly for the control of isolated protection-grounded low-voltage networks. The relay indicates a single pole ground fault of an isolated network before the fault has become a real short-circuits.

How It Works:
MEV-4 is a new electronic isolation level monitoring unit, which is used mainly for the control of isolated protection-grounded low-voltage networks. The relay indicates a single pole ground fault of an isolated network, before the fault has become a real short-circuit.

The small measurement power needed by the unit and the high impedance of measurement circuit allow the MEV-4 to be used in the control of supply (mains-) network of EX-rooms and operation theatres.

Maximum 5 EV-4 remote control units can be connected to MEV-4, to provide remote control and alarm for monitoring.

The current supplied by the measuring circuit is relative to isolation level (ground resistance) of the mains network which is to be controlled. The value of the isolation level (80kOhm - 1Mohm), alarm delay (1s - 10s), plug socket line break level and continuity measurement level is configured from the front panel of the MEV-4 unit.

When the isolation level is under a pre-set value, MEV-4 gives an alarm. Green SAFETY LEVEL-led turns OFF and FAULT led and FAULT MEMORY led lights up.

The faulty equipment or group of equipment is to be disconnected from the network and the memory of MEV-4 is reset.

Testing of operation is done from the front panel of MEV-4 or by using the remote control. Isolation level can be continuously monitored using the display at the front panel at MEV-4 front panel.
